Job summary

Piedmont Technical College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus or one of the college’s six county centers, with day, evening, or online class options. Temporary, part-time assignments may arise across multiple programs, including dual credit courses with local high schools.

Instructors will follow syllabi, use instructional technology, and apply varied teaching methods while prioritizing student engagement, safety, and compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• An Associate of Science degree in Mechatronics Technology or related field is required.
• A minimum of three years of related work experience is required.
• Excellent customer service skills are essential.

• Teach a diverse student body at various locations in accordance with established syllabi.

Job Responsibilities

Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications to build an active pool of qualified candidates for Adjunct Faculty (temporary, part-time) positions. Adjunct instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or at one of the college’s six county centers located in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick. Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis as teaching opportunities become available.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching a diverse student body in accordance with established syllabi at various locations, utilizing instructional technology, and applying a variety of effective teaching methods. Additional duties include planning, managing, and delivering course instruction; following all EPA and OSHA regulations that pertain to the program; participating in college functions as needed; and applying teaching practices that support the continuous improvement of both the program and the college.

Adjunct faculty are expected to serve as professional team members who support the mission and vision of the college while performing their duties with the highest level of quality and service.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

An Associate of Science degree in Mechatronics Technology or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience are required. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education and possess excellent customer service skills.
