Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience or combination of training and experience.
  • Experienced in DC/AC repair and troubleshooting, reading of machine prints – electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC (Siemens), HMI, Profibus, industrial communications.
  • Solid understanding of computer and controller hardware, IT network structures and Internet/Remote access applications.
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with process machinery, heating, cooling, gas metering, vacuum, valves and electronic controls.
  • Fanuc robot maintenance and repair training or extensive previous history.
  • Exceptional computer skills and network navigation.
  • Must have good mathematics skills and good knowledge of the metric system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document preventative and predictive maintenance for automated devices in manufacturing, assembly, testing and quality departments.
  • Troubleshoot production IT-related machine and network issues under guidance of lead mechatronic technician.
  • Perform program and software updates according to instructions and information from MRT Austria.
  • Perform and manage data back-ups to ensure latest data/programs are available.
  • Adjust teaching positions of robots and related automation including proximity switches, sensors, and wiring as needed.
  • Assist maintenance efforts when expertise overlaps (dead drives, boards, wiring, soldering, cables).

Job description

General Purpose:

Responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated systems and technologies across GLOCK Inc. manufacturing operations in Smyrna, GA.

Shift(s) Available:
  • 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM), Monday through Friday
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
  • Perform and document preventative and predictive maintenance for all kinds of automated devices in the manufacturing, assembly, testing, and quality departments.
  • Troubleshoot production IT related machine and network issues under the direction and guidance of lead mechatronic technician when required.
  • Perform program and software updates according to instructions and/or information from MRT Austria.
  • Perform and manage data back-ups to ensure that latest data/programs are available.
  • Adjust teaching positions of robots and related automation including proximity switches, sensors, and wiring as needed.
  • Assist machine maintenance efforts in cases where expertise may overlap (e.g. dead drives, boards, wiring, soldering, and communication cables).
  • Ensure that network connectivity of automated devices and machinery is maintained.
  • Supports the installation and testing of new equipment and processes.
  • Supports all LEAN activities in his/her area of responsibility, especially for the sustainable execution of 5S principles (order and cleanliness) and continuous process improvement (stable processes) based on KAIZEN principles to achieve highest quality standards
  • In cooperation with the maintenance team supports execution of regular and effective preventive maintenance of production IT hardware and automated machinery. This includes routine cleaning, minor repairs, and inspections.
  • Supports the machine maintenance department as needed or when directed.
  • Self-starter that can work alone with minimal supervision and follow instructions.
  • Complies with legal and company ordinances as well as ISO-, OSHA- and Environmental Protection regulatory and ensures highest safety standards in his/her daily work.
  • Daily documents activities and follows up with reports about progress made on projects assigned.
  • Must adhere to established PM schedule and documents, and provide feedback for modification of activities in order to provide a high level of machine availability.

Must be able to walk in excess of 10,000 steps per day.

Work Environment:

The work environment is normally a climate controlled industrial manufacturing space.The manufacturing environment can vary, outdoor work can be required. Hot, cold, wind and rain can all be expected. Work could be greasy, slippery, wet, and dusty.Must be able and willing to work outdoors in the elements when required. Sharp loud noises are possible. Able to work at heights in personal lifts and drive a forklift.
