Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is offering a summer internship in Portland, OR, open to students who are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or have recently graduated. You will work in the Real-to-Virtual validation space, supporting setup and execution of tests, analyzing data, and comparing results with simulations across CAE and testing teams.

The hybrid schedule (4 days in-office, 1 day remote) provides hands-on engineering experience, professional development, and potential transition

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program or higher or have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date
• Availability for 6 mo. internship highly preferred
• Interest in hands-on engineering and cross-disciplinary collaboration
• Familiarity with CAE, simulations, or data analysis is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Develop tools and processes that improve and optimize validation activities
• Improve efficiencies in procedures by reducing errors and downtime
• Create material suggestions and deliver data to design and testing teams
• Identify project risks and escalate to management
• Prepare and present project status reports and KPIs for milestones
• Support creation of detailed project plans and budgets and communicate scope and requirements
• Develop Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&R) and define test cases and procedures
• Advise project leads on scope, impacts, and timing for validation efforts
• Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment
