Job summary

TK Elevator in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician III to support engineers in developing test equipment for elevator components, assemblies, and systems and with installing elevator subsystems, components, and mockups. The position includes general lab maintenance, conducting tests, component fabrication, and assembly of test fixtures.

Lead a team of technicians, train newer staff, and perform welding, machining, and prototype assembly while following SOPs and safety

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of college, technical institute courses, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• Forklift and scissor lift certification, preferred.
• 4-6 years of equivalent work experience.
• 2-4 years of elevator experience.
• OSHA 10.
• Welding Certification.
• Requires lifting parts weighting up to 75 pounds.
• Comprehension of general mechanical engineering concepts required.
• Possess effective verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated experience with the use of computer-assisted engineering tools and general knowledge of test equipment.
• Ability to closely follow instructions and pre-established procedures/SOP to perform the functions of the job.
• Ability to operate various hand and power tools.
• Good customer service skills.
• Maintain a Clean Environment.
• Adherence to corporate compliance policy, including performing all duties in a professional and responsible manner.
• Completion of work in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Produce test fixtures for elevator components and systems.

• Operate CNC mill, lathe, and brake.
• Assemble prototype components and perform welding.
• Handle shipping and receiving duties.
• Collaborate to create SOPs and safety protocols.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and standards.
• Complete special projects with limited supervision.
• Complete elevator and safety training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Troubleshoot elevator systems
• Troubleshoot test fixtures
• Perform structural modifications to the hoist ways
