Job summary

GAF Materials Corp. in Ennis, TX seeks a Mechanical Technician II to perform safe, hands-on maintenance and diagnostics on plant equipment, supporting daily operations and capital projects.

You will work with a maintenance supervisor to drive reliability and performance across pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. The role requires practical mechanical skills, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and experience with Maximo CMMS.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years related experience.
• Able to lift and handle up to 50 pounds.
• Able to climb and work at elevated heights.
• Able to learn and use computer software to utilize the Maximo CMMS.
• Able to work around the chemicals and environment present in both the Shingle and Nonwoven Plants.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting daily machine issues.
• Support medium and long-term expense and capital development projects.
• Have general mechanical expertise.
• Lead/mentor less-experienced mechanics and collaborate with maintenance teams.
