Job summary

The technician will work from verbal, written, and graphic instructions to provide technical and mechanical support for the Jefferson Lab Hall C experimental program. Fabricate, assemble, install and test detectors, magnets, power supplies and infrastructure hardware in the Hall, and supply technical support during experiments.

This role requires interpreting complex drawings, operating cranes and forklifts, performing maintenance, and ensuring safety training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical fabrication and installation.
• Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with welding methods (SMAW, TIG, MIG) and use of power tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and mechanical support for the Hall C experimental program.
• Fabricate, assemble, install and test detectors, magnets, power supplies and infrastructure hardware.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, trucks with trailers, and aerial platforms as needed.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and maintain documentation.
• Read drawings across electronics, mechanical and cryogenic systems.
