Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Follow EHS rules and produce quality work.

  • Construct piping spools with minimal supervision following EHS/quality protocols.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and identify issues.

Job Description

The Mechanical Technician II is tasked with the assembly, fabrication, and quality assurance ofcomponents essential for manufacturing specialized water treatment systems. This role involvesexecuting intricate pipe-fitting tasks using various materials including stainless steel, fiberglass, CPVC,and PVC. High-level proficiency in operating specialized machinery—such as ironworkers, band saws, drillpresses, and forklifts—is required. Beyond technical execution, the technician serves as a mentor tojunior staff, ensures strict compliance with safety protocols, and performs confined space entries inspecialized tank environments. Responsibilities also include maintaining detailed reports and productionrecords to uphold high fabrication standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follows all EHS rules and produces quality work.
  • Trains and mentors Mechanical Technician I staff on proper techniques, safety procedures, andquality standards.
  • Expertly constructs metal and PVC piping spools with minimal supervision while strictly followingall EHS and quality protocols.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and ability to identify problems
  • Ensures the continuous maintenance of 5S initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all installed components align with the relevantengineering drawings in support of quality assurance documentation.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Work as a member of a team and independently.
  • Desire to advance to higher level mechanical technician roles
  • Basic mathematics skills.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 3- 4 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician I or equivalent mechanicalfabrication experience
  • Experience in the fabrication of equipment using tools, blueprints/schematics, and bills ofmaterial.

Preferred:

  • Trade ability to assemble piping & equipment to assembly and process drawings.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude: must be proficient in understanding basic pipe, andskid layout and assembly, use of hand and power tools
  • Demonstrated high-quality work, initiative, and the ability to work unsupervised at times.
  • School certificate in mechanical trade or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Preference will be given to previous experience in manufacturing of large water treatmentequipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform work with appropriate PPE for work (safety toed shoes, safety glasses,bump cap/hard hat, etc.)
  • The majority of the day will be spent standing with some bending and fine motor workappropriate for work in a fabrication shop.
  • Ability to operate power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws.
  • Some unassisted lifting up to 50 lbs. is required – nearly all heavy parts movement assisted withcranes/hoists and pallet jacks.
