Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services in Minnetonka, MN seeks a Mechanical Technician to join a team assembling reverse osmosis equipment. You will lay out, fabricate, and assemble PVC and metal piping spools, install sensors and devices, and ensure EHS and quality standards are met, under supervision.

Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year in mechanical trades. Preferred trade school certificate; ability to read engineered electrical drawings and schematics; able to operate power tools;

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Work as a member of a team and independently.
• Desire to advance to higher-level mechanical technician roles.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Ability to operate power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws.
• Ability to assemble conduit and electrical panels and equipment per quality and EHS standards.
• Ability to read engineered electrical drawings and schematics.

Job Description

Job Summary:
Work as a Mechanical Technician on a team assembling reverse osmosis equipment. Mechanical Technicians lay out, fabricate, and assemble PVC and metal piping spools, install sensors and devices, and ensure EHS and quality standards are met. This position works under the direction of the Mechanical Technician Lead and assigned Production Supervisor.

Education & Experience:

Required

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1+years of experience working in mechanical trades such as auto repair, HVAC, plumbing, etc.

Preferred

• Trade school certificate in a mechanical trade
• Experience in a factory or industrial setting, preferably assembly operations

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to perform work with appropriate PPE for work (safety-toed shoes, safety glasses, bump cap/hard hat, etc.)
• Must be able to operate power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws
• Some unassisted lifting of up to 50 lbs.is required – nearly all heavy parts movement isassisted with cranes/hoists and pallet jacks
• Majority of thedaywill be spent standing with some bending and fine motor work appropriate for work in a fabrication shop
• Some sitting and computer work is required

Hours:First Shift Monday through Friday 5:45am to 2:15pm

Compensation:The hourly rate of $27.00 is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles.
