Job summary

Veolia Group's Water Tech team is seeking a Mechanical Technician to assemble reverse osmosis equipment. You will layout, fabricate, and assemble PVC and metal piping, install sensors, and ensure EHS and quality standards are met.

You will work under guidance from the Mechanical Technician Lead and Production Supervisor. Required: HS diploma and 1+ year mechanical trades experience; preferred trade school or factory setting.

Qualifications

  • Reading and interpreting shop orders and BOMs.
  • Basic mathematics and measurement skills.
  • Willingness to work with power tools in a fabrication environment.
  • Ability to follow EHS and quality standards in a team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble RO equipment from drawings as a team member.
  • Lay out, fabricate, and assemble PVC and metal piping spools.
  • Install sensors and devices and ensure EHS/quality compliance.
  • Read and follow shop orders and bills of materials.

Job Summary:

Work as a Mechanical Technician on a team assembling reverse osmosis equipment. Mechanical Technicians lay out, fabricate, and assemble PVC and metal piping spools, install sensors and devices, and ensure EHS and quality standards are met. This position works under the direction of the Mechanical Technician Lead and assigned Production Supervisor.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Followall EHS rules and produce quality work
  • Assistwith other departments as needed
  • Workwith and coordinate activities with other job classifications
  • Followsafe work practices and all environmental, health& safety policies and procedures
  • Readand understandshop orders and bills of materials
  • AssembleRO equipment from drawings as a member of a team
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Work as a member of a team and independently
  • Desire to advance to higher‑level mechanical technician roles
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Ability to operate power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws
  • Ability to assemble conduit and electrical panels and equipment per applicable quality and EHS standards
  • Ability to work from engineered electrical drawings and schematics and understand engineering and quality specifications
  • Ability to participate as a key member of an assembly team
Education & Experience:

Required

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+years of experience working in mechanical trades such as auto repair, HVAC, plumbing, etc.

Preferred

  • Trade school certificate in a mechanical trade
  • Experience in a factory or industrial setting, preferably assembly operations
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to perform work with appropriate PPE for work (safety-toed shoes, safety glasses, bump cap/hard hat, etc.)
  • Must be able to operate power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws
  • Some unassisted lifting of up to 50 lbs.is required – nearly all heavy parts movement isassisted with cranes/hoists and pallet jacks
  • Majority of thedaywill be spent standing with some bending and fine motor work appropriate for work in a fabrication shop
  • Some sitting and computer work is required

Hours:

First Shift Monday through Friday 5:45am to 2:15pm

Compensation:

The hourly rate of $27.00 is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles.
