Job summary

JLL is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Detroit facilities to support operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. You will work with team members and mobile engineers on repairs, while performing defined tasks across interior and exterior areas including HVAC units, boilers, lighting, and roofing.

The role requires 1–3 years of repair experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs and climb ladders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of work experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.
• Licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and climb up to 30 ft ladders.
• Position requires frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing preventive and repair work orders on facility systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
• Conduct facility inspections and due diligence; report conditions affecting occupancy and operations.
• Perform interior maintenance tasks (hang pictures, repair office furniture, doors).
• Assist operations in maintenance and repair of building and equipment; move furniture and equipment as needed.
• Replace lighting and ballasts; clean HVAC coils and replace filters/belts.
• Use CMMS (Corrigo) to update work orders in real time.
• Maintain compliance with applicable codes and ordinances.
• Handle any other duties as assigned.
