GE Vernova is seeking a Mechanical Technician to build and drive breakers according to blueprints and wiring diagrams. The role requires unpacking parts, inspecting for proper function, and assembling breakers to meet specifications.
You will use standard tools and document all steps while maintaining quality control. Attention to detail is essential to ensure safe, reliable components for shipment and downstream assembly.
Essential Responsibilities:
Unpack parts and inspects each one for proper functioning and ensures completeness.
Knowledge of standard assembly tools and practices including wrenches, power drivers, and torque wrenches.
Assembles breakers to standard drawings and customer specifications or prepares breakers for shipment or clean and prepares tanks and sub-assemblies for downstream assembly.
Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
Performs assembly functions in accordance with Quality Control Procedures to ensure the output will meet QC and customer standards.
Inspects own work to ensure that each breaker is properly assembled, vacuumed, pre-filled, and ready to test and ship.
Attention to detail and neatness of work
Documents work performed by filling out proper forms (labor, QCR’s, etc.).
Cleans work area at the end of the shift.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience/training
Attention to detail a must
Ability to read engineering drawings for assembly
