Job summary

GE Vernova Grid Solutions is hiring an Assembler to build breakers and related sub-assemblies per drawings and specs. You will inspect parts, perform assembly steps, and document labor and quality checks.

Attention to detail is essential as you follow QC procedures, read engineering drawings, and use wrenches, power drivers, and torque wrenches. Flexibility to work weekends may be required and you will keep a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience/training.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to read engineering drawings for assembly.

Responsibilities

• Unpack parts and inspect for proper function and completeness.
• Assemble breakers to standard drawings and customer specifications; prepare for shipment or sub-assemblies for downstream assembly.
• Discuss errors in diagrams or production orders with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
• Perform assembly in line with Quality Control Procedures to meet QC and customer standards.
• Inspect own work to ensure breakers are properly assembled, vacuumed, pre-filled, and ready to test and ship.
• Document work by filling out forms (labor, QCRs).
• Maintain clean work area and perform related duties as assigned.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Unpack parts and inspects each one for proper functioning and ensures completeness.


• Knowledge of standard assembly tools and practices including wrenches, power drivers, and torque wrenches.


• Assembles breakers to standard drawings and customer specifications or prepares breakers for shipment or clean and prepares tanks and sub-assemblies for downstream assembly.


• Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.


• Performs assembly functions in accordance with Quality Control Procedures to ensure the output will meet QC and customer standards.


• Inspects own work to ensure that each breaker is properly assembled, vacuumed, pre-filled, and ready to test and ship.


• Attention to detail and neatness of work


• Documents work performed by filling out proper forms (labor, QCR’s, etc.).


• Cleans work area at the end of the shift.


• Performs other related duties as assigned.
