Responsibilities include:
- Servicing trucks, trailers, and buses with mechanical repairs, lubrication, preventative maintenance, inspections, and oil changes.
- Maintaining the shop area, including bays, equipment, and tools to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Assisting with directing vehicles in and out of service bays and ensuring the use of chock blocks.
- Conducting oil and grease procedures safely and according to specific flow charts.
- Presenting customers with sales options through an informative approach, including informing them of additional services and providing proper quotes (CTO and CCO).
- Verifying oil dipstick readings before directing customers to start their vehicles.
- Completing all work order entries accurately during and after services.
- Ensuring 100% accuracy in fleet services as per each company's procedures.
- Assisting with customer concerns and service issues for owner-operators and fleet clients.
- Reporting safety incidents or accidents to store management.
- Conducting preventive maintenance on store equipment.
- Ensuring shelves are properly stocked and disposing of used parts and cores correctly.
- Assisting with Lube Services during slow periods.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Desirable Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience with semi-tractor oil, lubrication, and tire requirements.
- Strong mechanical skills and good judgment.
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Effective communication skills with management and customers.
- Ability to perform inspections compliant with FMCSA standards.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work various shift schedules.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and accountability.
- Must obtain or possess Texas Commercial Inspector Certification and ASE Certification.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Computer literacy.
