Job summary

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician II to support the lead engineer in maintaining and improving packaging equipment across the facility. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems, perform maintenance, weld, assemble, and ensure compliance with SQF, GMPs, HACCP, and other food-safety standards.

This role requires physical work, overtime, and safe operation of tools in a USDA-inspected

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Diploma/GED with two years of mechanical engineering knowledge/experience.
• Experience with hand and power tools and reading drawings/blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematics to determine test specifications and procedures.
• Inspect, repair, and calibrate machinery to keep operations running smoothly.
• Perform maintenance on hydraulic/pneumatic systems and electrical units.
• Weld, assemble, and install equipment; troubleshoot to identify good/bad welds.
• Follow safety and food-safety standards (SQF, GMPs, HACCP) during all tasks.
