Electromechanical Technician - 2nd Shift Job Summary:
The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to ensure optimal performance. This role requires a hands‑on approach to quickly respond to breakdowns, diagnose issues, and perform preventative maintenance on machinery critical to food processing operations.
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in electrical and mechanical systems, PLCs, and control systems to minimize production downtime.
- Installation and Setup: Install, set up, and test new equipment, ensuring it meets safety and operational standards.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance according to schedule to extend equipment life and improve reliability.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards, including OSHA, NFPA, and GMP, to maintain a safe working environment.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed maintenance records, including repairs, adjustments, and parts inventory.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency, safety, and production up time.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the production and engineering teams to support equipment needs, minimize disruptions, and achieve production targets.
Qualifications
- Capable of troubleshooting and repairing automated systems, including pneumatics, electrical, hydraulics, motors, conveyors, and PLC-controlled machinery.
- Working with 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and PLC schematics.
- Recognizes and resolves issues promptly and efficiently.
- Certified in forklift operation and other warehouse lift equipment.
- Effective at collaborating in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
- Associate degree or Trade Certification a plus.
- 2-5 Years in a food production/facility maintenance role.
- Preference for powder packaging experience.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling around machinery.
- Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds at a time.
