R. J. Corman Railroad Group seeks Mechanical Team Members (QMI) to join our Mill Creek, OK location. You will perform railcar inspections and repairs, document work for verification, and ensure compliance with federal regulations.

Candidates should have railroad carman experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong teamwork and communication skills. Training is provided in a fast-paced railroad environment, with full-time benefits available.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair railcars and document work for verification and timely completion.
• Complete railcar inspections, including extended haul checks per 49 CFR Parts 215, 218, 224, 231, 232.
• Maintain documentation of work performed and material usage.
• Ensure all required paperwork for railcar repairs is accurate and complete.
• Ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.
• Maintain safe and clean vehicles and shops.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

R. J. Corman is currently seeking Mechanical Team Members (QMI) to join our team based out of Mill Creek, OK.

Responsibilities:

• Railcar inspections and repairs must be documented for verification and to ensure the work is being done correctly and in a timely manner.
• Complete railcar inspections, including extended haul inspections, in compliance with 49 CFR Parts 215, 218, 224, 231, and 232.
• Maintain understanding of documenting work performed and recording material usage.
• Ensure all federally required paperwork for railcar repairs is complete and correct.
• Ensure that repair jobs are completed in a timely manner.
• Ensure that vehicles and shops are kept clean and safe.
• Must undergo QMI training.
• Must be proficient in car repair, data entry, and material ordering.
• May require qualification to move locomotives and freight cars. Additional training provided.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:

• Railroad carman experience with extended haul inspections highly desirable.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Must have good communication and people skills with demonstrated ability to develop teamwork and work with all levels of personnel in achieving company goals.
• Proficiency in car repair, data entry, and material ordering.
• Ability to complete QMI training.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to perform physically strenuous work.
• Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Requires occasional use of a 30 lb. claw bar, requiring application of 50 lbs. of force.
• Requires occasional use of a 10 lb. sledgehammer, requiring application of 75 lbs. of force.
• Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails, and ballast in a safe manner.
• Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary.

Environmental Conditions:

• Performs duties in outdoor environments, in and around moving locomotives, railcars, vehicles, and equipment.
• Frequent exposure to weather elements.
• Appropriate PPE required.
• Must carry out responsibilities in a fast-paced railroad environment.
• Requires the ability to multi-task in a time-sensitive environment.
• Requires professional interaction with supervisors, employees, contractors, and customers.
