Job summary

HDR's Building Engineering Services Group is seeking a Mechanical Team Lead to supervise a diverse team of mechanical engineers, EITs and designers, guiding staffing, technical excellence, and project delivery.

You will partner with market sector leaders across commercial, civic, industrial, federal, healthcare and education to deliver resilient, efficient systems while advancing HDR's employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering roles.
• Professional registration or licensure may be required depending on role.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments effectively.
• Good leadership and organizational skills.
• A commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers, EITs and designers as direct supervisor.
• Collaborate with other Mechanical Team Leads and staff for staffing and proposals.
• Provide leadership focused on technical excellence, quality, and staff development.
• Ensure technical excellence across markets including commercial, civic, industrial, federal, healthcare and labs.
• Serve as design lead or project manager on key projects.
• Implement and support company policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business class efforts.
• Encourage work-sharing and development within HDR's national network.
• Support recruitment and growth of the mechanical business class.
• Perform other duties as needed.
