Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer, Mechanical to lead manufacturing and supplier quality efforts for Falcon & Dragon parts. The role emphasizes DFM, PPAP, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, procurement and suppliers to meet aggressive takt times.

The ideal candidate has machining experience, GD&T knowledge, and familiarity with ISO/AS quality systems, ERP/MRP, and data tools such as SQL/PowerBI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of experience with manufacturing and/or inspection of mechanical products in production.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical contact for assigned parts and mitigate quality risks.
• Investigate issues, root-cause, and drive supplier and internal actions to closure.
• Improve manufacturability, lead times, and cost through design and process changes.
• Lead DFMs reviews early in NPI and ramp to rate for new parts.
• Oversee PPAP program to ensure stable supply and better delivery.
