GH Engage is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to oversee on-site delivery of complex electrical construction projects across New York City, coordinating multiple crews and ensuring safety and quality. This role focuses on field operations, labor supervision, scheduling, and liaison with project teams to drive timely handovers on high-profile developments.

Qualifications

• Supervise foremen, plumbers, apprentices, subcontractors and vendors.
• Allocate labour and monitor productivity to meet milestones.
• Maintain daily priorities, communicate requirements and track field performance.
• Coordinate multiple crews and ensure workmanship, safety and attendance.
• Conduct daily site walks to review progress and implement corrective actions.
• Be the primary field representative for the electrical contractor on site.
• Coordinate activities in occupied buildings and restricted-access areas.

Job description

I am working with an established electrical contractor seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to oversee the on-site delivery of complex electrical construction projects across New York City.

This position offers the opportunity to lead mechanical installations across commercial, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, institutional and mission-critical developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing field operations, supervising labour and subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring all electrical work is delivered in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily mechanical construction activities from project mobilization through commissioning and final handover.
• Supervise foremen, plumbers, apprentices, subcontractors and specialist vendors.
• Allocate labour effectively across work areas, ensuring productivity targets and installation milestones are achieved.
• Establish clear daily priorities, communicate work requirements and monitor field performance.
• Coordinate multiple work crews and maintain accountability for workmanship, safety, attendance and productivity.
• Conduct daily site walks to review installation progress, identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain a consistent on-site presence and act as the primary field representative for the electrical contractor.
• Coordinate activities across occupied buildings, phased construction environments and restricted-access work areas where applicable.
