Job summary

GH Engage is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead electrical project initiatives on Long Island. You will own the delivery from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout, collaborating with clients, general contractors, field teams, subcontractors and internal estimating groups.

The role emphasizes strong communication, coordination across trades, and rigorous oversight of schedules, budgets and procurement to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager in an electrical contractor.
• Ability to manage projects from pre-construction through closeout.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction and installation.
• Excellent communication with clients and subcontractors.
• Experience in NY/Long Island market is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical projects from award through to final completion and closeout.

Job description

We are working with an established electrical contractor in Long Island that is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join its growing project delivery team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Project Manager with a strong contracting background who is comfortable taking ownership of projects from pre-construction and procurement through installation, commissioning and closeout.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of assigned electrical projects, working closely with clients, general contractors, field teams, subcontractors and internal commercial/estimating teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage electrical projects from award through to final completion and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and procurement plans.
• Coordinate electrical installations with general contractors, subcontractors and other trades.
• Manage project costs, forecasting, change orders and commercial performance.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals and project documentation.
• Manage RFIs and identify potential design or constructability issues.
• Procure electrical equipment and materials in line with project requirements and programme.
• Work closely with Superintendents and field teams to ensure projects remain on schedule.
• Attend client, GC and project progress meetings.
• Monitor labour requirements, productivity and project milestones.
• Ensure electrical installations meet required quality and safety standards.
• Manage testing, commissioning, punch lists and project closeout documentation.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager within an electrical contractor.
• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical construction and installation.
• Experience managing projects through the full construction lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of project costs, change management, procurement and scheduling.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and client-management skills.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced contracting environment.
• Experience within the New York / Long Island construction market would be highly advantageous.
