Job summary

Salute seeks the Mechanical Subsystem Expert (SME) to be the most technical leader on HVAC and fluid systems for their data center site. SMEs serve as mentors to Facilities and Commissioning Engineers in the field and classroom.

This role is hands-on within critical environments. Primary duties include optimizing reliability and performance of mechanical systems within the data center, overseeing preparation, execution, and quality control of all work, and leading root cause analysis, vendor

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a mechanical role in a mission-critical environment.
• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology (4 years of experience required).
• Strong ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with electrical controls and fire suppression/alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• Optimizes the reliability and performance of mechanical systems within the data center.
• Oversees preparation, execution, and quality control of all work on mechanical systems.
• Leads root cause analysis (RCA) for mechanical events, faults, and issues.
• Manages vendor relationships that provide support for mechanical systems.
• Delivers formal classroom training on mechanical systems for the data center operations team.
