Job summary

Salute Inc. in Rayville, LA is seeking a Critical Facility Technician – Mechanical Lead to provide technical leadership for the data center's mechanical systems, oversee installation, testing, and ongoing maintenance.

You will mentor technicians, drive preventive maintenance, analyze data for reliability, and coordinate with construction teams to ensure compliant, safe, and efficient operation of HVAC, plumbing, and related equipment.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of rack installation processes.
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders and access high areas.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Construction teams to ensure reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance on mechanical, air handlers, HVAC, plumbing systems, and periodic testing of the equipment.
  • Utilize programs and procedures to maximize equipment operability and efficiency while minimizing life cycle costs.
  • Understand potential equipment failures and provide technical support to Operations in case of critical system failure.
  • Perform Root-Cause Failure Analysis and facilitate corrective action.
  • Validate maintenance performance by analyzing trends and maintenance data.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to Facility Operators.
  • Represent the operations department in project meetings as needed.
  • Establish and review project objectives, policies, procedures (MOP, SOP, EOP) and performance standards.
  • Directly work with technicians in day-to-day operations and maintenance of electrical critical facility equipment.
  • Ensure Site Teams are proficient in system operation and maintenance techniques.
  • On-call to respond to emergencies at the data center.
  • Perform preventive tests and analyze data to ensure proper functioning of all installed mechanical components.

Salary: $33.00 Annually

TheCritical Facility Technician – Mechanical Leadserves as the lead mechanical journeyperson , providing technical leadership and guidance while working alongside onsite Critical Facility Engineers. The Mechanical Lead is responsible for ensuring the overall reliability, performance, and operational health of all critical mechanical infrastructure within the data center environment. This includes oversight of mechanical system installation , acceptance testing, and advanced technical support for site operations. The Mechanical Lead leverages extensive hands‑on experience to install mechanical systems, mentor, train, and develop technical staff, ensuring technicians possess the skills necessary to safely diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex mechanical system issues.

R e view c onstruct i on eq u i p m en t submittals, c ommiss i oning pla n s and identify p ote n tial deficienci e s.
  • Responsible for conducting and/or o ver s eei n g pr e ven t ative m ai n tenance o n r eg u lar mechanica l , air h andlers, HVAC, plumbing sy st e ms, and p eriodic testing of t h e equi pm ent
