Our company continues to grow, so we’re looking for a talented individual to join our Engineering Team as a Mechanical/Structural Design Engineer at our Greenville, SC office.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for designing and improving products such as gangways, structural platforms, stairs/ladders, and fall protection equipment. The engineer will work closely with the entire Engineering team, Sales personnel, and company leadership to drive innovation and solve customer problems. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Develop mechanical and structural solutions for customers in collaboration with Sales and company leadership.
  2. Perform load calculations for industrial safety structures and related accessories (stairs, ladders, racks, etc.).
  3. Manage multiple assignments, developing solutions from simple to highly complex.
  4. Review, approve, and implement engineering standards, policies, and procedures.
  5. Provide technical engineering input for estimating and bid proposals.
  6. Interpret external codes, regulations, and specifications to assess their impact on designs.
  7. Contribute to product setup/testing on new innovative solutions.
  8. Utilize FEA simulations to design structural and mechanical components for custom safety solutions.
  9. Coordinate securing PE stamps for respective states as needed.
  10. Participate in managing larger mechanical/structural engineering projects.
  11. Audit existing mechanical systems/solutions and recommend improvements.
  12. Meet internal and external deadlines, communicate schedule variances to leadership.
  13. Perform full lifecycle product development, including design, testing, manufacturing, and implementation.
  14. Test and evaluate theoretical designs on new products.
  15. Evaluate final product performance, reliability, and safety.
  16. Estimate project budgets and scope; prepare reports and documentation.
  17. Perform other duties as business needs require.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering; EIT or PE is a plus.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in structural/mechanical design or fabrication industry.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.
  • SolidWorks modeling experience or other parametric modeling software.
  • Experience using RISA or similar structural engineering software.
  • Problem-solving aptitude, analytical skills, and highly organized.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
