Job summary

Epiroc seeks an Engineering Test Supervisor for its Garland, TX site. You will plan, schedule, and execute test programs and prototype builds, delivering accurate, repeatable data to Engineering.

The role requires hands-on leadership of the testing team and close collaboration with R&D to verify new designs and resolve field issues. You will lead safety initiatives, manage test budgets, and coordinate with Production and project teams to meet timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of five years of experience working on or with heavy equipment in roles such as R&D, engineering test, manufacturing engineering, production, or service.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on mobile heavy equipment.
• Ability to develop test plans and procedures, and to analyze, interpret, and report technical data.
• Willingness to support field testing at customer sites nationally and internationally.
• Strong planning and scheduling skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans, procedures, and setups that produce meaningful data for evaluating drill rig and system performance, and document standard procedures for repeatable testing.
• Collaborate with R&D to develop test plans and procedures that verify and validate new designs and address customer field issues.
• Identify test requirements early in the project life cycle, set timelines, and complete testing by committed dates.
• Coordinate with Production to schedule test rigs and adjust sequencing to protect customer delivery dates.
• Interface with new product development teams on prototype builds, testing, and field support per project plan.
• Lead safety for the test function, including hazard identification and PPE compliance, and create safety SOPs.
• Own test equipment calibration, maintenance, and budgeting input for future tooling needs.
• Supervise, hire, train, and develop test technicians, including performance discussions.
• Maintain IMS documentation and support audits.
• Communicate test plans, schedules, and results clearly to Engineering, Production, and project teams.
