Job summary

Reynolds American Inc. in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Mechanical Specialist to operate and maintain high-speed tobacco manufacturing equipment, perform complex mechanical interventions, and ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

You will diagnose defects, perform preventive maintenance, document actions in SAP/CMMS, and support machine health and OEE across multiple technologies. A two-year degree or related certification is required.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree or certification in industrial systems or mechanical technology.
• Experience in tobacco manufacturing or similar high-level mechanical interventions.
• Proficient with SAP/CMMS and MES systems.
• Strong math & reading comprehension per WorkKeys.

Responsibilities

• Operates high-speed tobacco manufacturing equipment and maintains quality and regulatory compliance.
• Performs mechanical repairs and ensures machine health and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Diagnose defects, perform corrective maintenance, and update SAP/CMMS records.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on multiple technologies and subassemblies.
• Set up machines for product changes and instruct others as needed.
• Record KPI data, manage parts ordering, and document actions across MES and other systems.
