Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Project Engineer for our Chapel Hill office.

You will lead HVAC design for complex facilities and mentor project teams while coordinating with clients and partners to deliver high-performance engineering solutions. The role requires 15+ years in HVAC design for research, healthcare or higher education, and a PE license; proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is preferred.

Qualifications

  • BSME/BSAE (or other engineering discipline with applicable experience).
  • 15+ years of experience designing HVAC building systems for research, Healthcare or Higher Education facilities.
  • Professional engineering registration required.
  • Proficiency in computer design programs (Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks) preferred.

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and project partners; manage the overall design process on assigned projects within the discipline.

In this role, you will build and maintain relationships with clients and project partners and is responsible for the overall design process on assigned projects within a particular discipline. Within your role, you will also develop innovative and unique design solutions to align with project, client and project partner needs and leads the team in implementing solutions.

Expertise of our most successful Mechanical Senior Project Engineer:
  • BSME/BSAE (or other engineering discipline with applicable experience).
  • 15+ years of experience designing HVAC building systems for research, Healthcare or Higher Education facilities.
  • Professional engineering registration required.
  • Proficiency in computer operation for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks) preferred.
