Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for our Charlottesville, VA office. You will lead the mechanical design process on complex projects, delivering innovative HVAC solutions for research, healthcare, and higher education facilities.

Your role drives client outcomes and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of HVAC design experience, a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and PE registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• BSME/BS AE or related engineering degree with applicable experience.
• 10+ years designing HVAC building systems for research, healthcare or higher education facilities.
• Professional engineering registration preferred.
• Proficiency in engineering design tools: Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks.

In this role, you will be responsible for engineering design process on assigned projects within a particular discipline. You will develop innovative and unique engineering solutions to align with project, client and project partner’s needs, and leads the discipline team in implementing the solutions.

Expertise of our most successful Mechanical Project Engineer:

• BSME/BSAE (or other engineering discipline with applicable experience).
• 10+ years of experience designing HVAC building systems for research, Healthcare or Higher Education facilities.
• Professional engineering registration preferred.
• Proficiency in computer operation for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks) preferred.
