Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. in Chapel Hill is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead HVAC design for research, healthcare, and higher education facilities. You will manage the design process, develop innovative solutions, and guide the discipline team toward project goals.

The role requires a strong background in HVAC project design (10+ years) and professional licensure is preferred. Proficiency with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is desirable.

Qualifications

  • In-degree in mechanical engineering or related field; strong HVAC project experience.
  • HVAC building systems design experience for research, healthcare, or higher education facilities (10+ years).
  • PE registration preferred; engineers with applicable experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design process on assigned projects within the discipline.
  • Develop innovative and unique engineering solutions aligned with client needs.
  • Provide discipline team leadership to implement design solutions.

In this role, you will be responsible for engineering design process on assigned projects within a particular discipline. You will develop innovative and unique engineering solutions to align with project, client and project partner’s needs, and leads the discipline team in implementing the solutions.

Expertise of our most successful Mechanical Project Engineer:
  • BSME/BSAE (or other engineering discipline with applicable experience).
  • 10+ years of experience designing HVAC building systems for research, Healthcare or Higher Education facilities.
  • Professional engineering registration preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer operation for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks) preferred.
