Job summary

Neuralink is hiring a Mechanical & Robotics Engineer to design and produce hardware for an assistive robotic arm and brain-computer interface devices. You will own projects from concept to production, collaborating with clinicians and engineers to meet ambitious design goals.

Expect strong emphasis on safety, usability, and rapid prototyping, with opportunities to work across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics.
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
• Minimum of 3 years of mechanical engineering industry experience, including internships and project teams where you owned products from concept to production.
• Proficient in 3D CAD.
• Experience with robotic systems such as arm, grippers, actuators; familiarity with robotics software and control (Python, ROS, MATLAB).
• Electrical engineering proficiency (PCB design) and rapid prototyping skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate robot mechanical and electrical components with emphasis on usability and safety.
• Collaborate with clinicians, neuroscientists, biologists, and engineers to establish design criteria.
• Rapidly build systems to meet project goals.
• Apply analytical methods, including calculations and simulations, for design optimization.
• Drive all phases of device launch from prototyping to manufacturing release.
