Job summary

South Bow Corp. seeks a Mechanical Specialist to support safe, reliable operation of pipeline and terminal assets across the region.

Youll serve as SME for mechanical systems, rotating/fixed equipment, and reliability initiatives, partnering with Operations, Asset Integrity and Engineering to mitigate risks and improve performance. The role balances strategic asset management with hands-on day-to-day operations, requiring travel and on-call availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or diploma or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
• 8+ years of experience in pipeline, terminal, midstream, energy, industrial, or related operations.
• Experience with rotating equipment, fixed equipment, piping systems, and mechanical reliability programs.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Knowledge of maintenance and reliability principles, including condition monitoring and preventative maintenance strategies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical expertise for pumps, motors, valves, vessels, piping, tanks, and related infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and recurring issues.
• Develop and deliver technical training programs for field technicians.
• Develop maintenance and troubleshooting procedures and standards for mechanical systems.
• Lead or participate in reliability assessments, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to improve asset availability and reduce lifecycle costs.
• Support MOC, capital projects, and facility modifications with mechanical review.
• Evaluate equipment data and recommend improvements for safety and efficiency.
• Support emergency response and provide guidance during abnormal operations; promote safety culture.
