Job summary

Packaging Corporation in Valdosta, GA seeks a Mechanical Reliability Engineer to coordinate reliability programs for the mill. You’ll guide maintenance teams, develop and implement improvement plans, and drive cost-efficient projects.

The role focuses on electrical equipment reliability, asset tracking, and preventive maintenance, with collaboration across maintenance, engineering, and operations to ensure safety and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• 2–5 years of mechanical and electrical engineering experience in the Pulp & Paper industry.
• Experience with Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and AutoCAD.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. for an unlimited period.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage maintenance programs from concept to implementation.
• Support daily, monthly outages and annual outages in electrical/mechanical areas.
• Collaborate with maintenance/engineering to deliver complete programs.
• Lead projects with training, spare parts stocking, and PM checklists.
• Drive safety, environmental, and reliability improvements for the mill.
• Focus on improving electrical equipment reliability.
• Manage equipment tracking and rebuild programs.
• Implement predictive and preventive maintenance to fix issues.
• Maintain equipment information and manuals for inspections.
• Oversee area PM schedules and outage work planning.
• Plan capital projects for replacements and optimizations.
• Manage contractors and RCFA-driven problem solving.
