G.E. Mechanical, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical Systems to handle quantity take-offs, cost estimating, bid reviews, and document management for commercial and industrial HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing projects.

The role involves scheduling resources, managing budgets, and coordinating schedules to ensure timely project delivery. Ideal candidates have a degree in Construction Management or Engineering or at least two years of PM/estimating experience in construction,

Qualifications

• Two paths: a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or two years’ experience in project management/estimating in construction, mechanical, or related industry.
• Preferred: 3+ years’ experience with HVAC and plumbing equipment estimates and project management.
• Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets.
• Advanced understanding of risk management and construction procedures.

Responsibilities

• Quantity take-offs, cost estimating, cost analysis, bid reviews and document management for commercial/industrial HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Create competitive and accurate estimates to achieve margins and targets.
• Coordinate centralized cost estimating models for pricing data during proposal development.
• Follow up with potential clients to finalize work agreements.
• Schedule and manage resources (HVAC/R, plumbing) ensuring budget adherence.
• Develop and track mechanical project schedules for effective management.
• Supervise team members to deliver projects per estimates and collect necessary information for estimates.
• Identify resources, assign workloads and manage schedules for timely deliveries.
• Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and report issues.
• Process client invoicing promptly.
• Generate leads and new customers.
• Ensure team compliance with company policies and procedures.
