Job summary

G.E. Mechanical, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical Systems to oversee cost estimates, scheduling, and field coordination for commercial and industrial HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing projects in New Jersey.

You will work with a team to ensure on-time delivery, accurate estimates, and adherence to safety standards, while developing your career with growth opportunities at a leading NJ mechanical contractor.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 2 years' experience in project management and/or estimating in construction, mechanical, or related industry.
• 3+ years' experience with HVAC and plumbing equipment estimates and project management.

Responsibilities

• Quantity take-offs, cost estimating, cost analysis, bid reviews and document management for commercial/industrial HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Create competitive and accurate estimates to achieve margin and financial targets.
• Use centralized cost estimating models to ensure current pricing during HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical proposals.
• Follow up with potential clients to finalize work agreements.
• Schedule and manage resources (HVAC/R, plumbing manpower, equipment, materials) with budget focus.
• Develop, coordinate and track mechanical project schedules for optimum management.
• Supervise and interface with team members to align estimates with delivery.
• Identify resources, assign workloads and manage schedules for timely deliveries.
• Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and report issues.
• Process client invoicing promptly.
• Generate leads and new customers.
• Ensure team complies with company policies and procedures.
