Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Considerable experience in mechanical systems relative to schools, buildings, and facilities design and construction.
• Experience in project management of construction projects.
• Certificate License: Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical projects and project teams including design engineers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, consultants, and contractors for mechanical projects in schools and facilities.
• Perform design review including equipment calculations, drawings and specifications; prepare and submit MSDE state forms; investigate and resolve mechanical system problems in existing schools; prepare feasibility studies for additions or modifications of mechanical systems or equipment in existing schools.
• Prepare cost estimates for budgeting and construction; coordinate field inspections, testing and balancing; update MCPS specifications on mechanical systems for all mechanical projects.
• Travel to construction sites on a frequent and unscheduled basis; supervise, direct, and manage projects and teams.
