Job summary

CT Mechanical is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager with a seasoned leadership background in commercial construction trades, particularly HVAC, to plan, direct, coordinate, and budget projects from inception to completion. This role ensures efficient organization and scheduling, promoting profitability and high standards of execution.

The successful candidate will lead cross‑functional teams, forecast labor needs, manage vendors, maintain strong client relationships, and report metrics weekly

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in the Commercial HVAC/R industry.
  • At least three years of management experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Alignment with CT Mechanical’s core values and long‑term vision.
  • Strong problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop others, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure profitability of all assigned projects, targeting a minimum 10% net profit.
  • Forecast and manage labor hours and needs, including a labor forecast and 3‑week look‑ahead.
  • Develop and manage vendors and subcontractor resources to optimize project outcomes.
  • Maintain client satisfaction by open communication and promptly addressing concerns.
  • Coordinate with Asset Management, HR, IT, Estimating, and Finance departments to streamline operations.
  • Manage warehouse inventory, deliveries, receiving, and material needs to support projects.
  • Maintain purchasing procedures and manage fabrication needs efficiently.
  • Network effectively to enhance business development opportunities for the branch.
  • Manage warranty needs and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
  • Participate in leadership team meetings, providing insights and contributing to strategic decision‑making.
  • Provide operational solutions for all projects to ensure smooth success.
  • Help prioritize tasks to manage project schedules effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Report project metrics weekly to the leadership team, ensuring transparency and accountability.
