Job summary

Actalent, a Queens, NY-based mechanical construction contractor, seeks a Project Manager to oversee daily project activities and coordinate with field teams, vendors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers. The role supports planning, scheduling, procurement, and documentation to drive successful project execution.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of construction PM experience, with strong communication, organization, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in construction project management, project engineering, or coordination.
• Understanding of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical construction systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.

• Experience supporting projects in New York City.
• Knowledge of change order management, RFIs, and submittal processes.
• Self-starter with a willingness to learn.

Work Environment

This position requires working on-site and the ability to travel throughout the five boroughs. Join a mechanical contractor based in Queens, focusing on commercial and institutional projects such as museums, high-rise condos, and theaters. The team is currently managing five projects and looking for support as soon as possible, offering growth opportunities and a substantial project backlog.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Queens, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $80.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
