Job summary

PC Collins Company, LLC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead commercial and public-sector HVAC and mechanical construction projects across New Jersey and the surrounding region.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience within mechanical, HVAC, or MEP construction.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, piping, ductwork, boilers, pumps, air handling equipment, and controls.
  • Experience managing commercial, institutional, educational, municipal, or other public-sector construction projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction documents.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, change orders, procurement, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to resolve field and coordination issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Proficiency with standard construction/project management software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not required with relevant industry experience.
  • OSHA certification and/or PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical/HVAC construction projects from award through final completion and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost projections, and manpower requirements.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements to establish project scope and execution plans.
  • Coordinate HVAC equipment, piping, ductwork, controls, electrical, plumbing, and other associated trades.
  • Manage procurement of equipment and materials, including tracking long-lead items and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project costs, committed costs, labor, change orders, and overall profitability.
  • Coordinate closely with field supervisors and trades to maintain schedule and resolve construction issues.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attend owner, architect, engineer, and project coordination meetings.
  • Review existing field conditions and coordinate installations with drawings and specifications.
  • Identify potential project risks, conflicts, and scope gaps and develop solutions before they impact schedule or cost.
  • Manage testing, commissioning, punch list, and project closeout requirements.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular updates regarding project schedule, cost, and progress.
  • Ensure projects meet company quality and safety standards.

An established mechanical and HVAC contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to manage commercial and public-sector HVAC and mechanical construction projects throughout New Jersey and the surrounding region.


The Project Manager will be responsible for projects from preconstruction and turnover through execution, commissioning, and closeout. This individual will coordinate closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents.


The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing commercial HVAC and mechanical projects, including equipment replacements, boilers, piping, ductwork, mechanical rooms, controls, and related building systems.
