Job description

Lead projects that shape communities across Southern California.

AMPAM is continuing to grow, and we're looking for experienced Project Managers to help lead our expanding construction operations.

With more than 1,500 employees, a strong backlog of work, recent strategic acquisitions, and long-standing relationships with many of California's leading developers and general contractors, there's never been a better time to join AMPAM.

Why Project Managers are joining AMPAM:
  • Newly added position due to company growth
  • Financially strong company with a healthy pipeline of work
  • Lead challenging multifamily and commercial construction projects
  • Significant ownership and decision-making authority
  • Collaborative leadership team focused on your long-term success
The Opportunity

We're growing our project management organization and are open to hiring experienced professionals at either the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager level.

Depending on your experience, you'll lead multifamily and commercial construction projects involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or broader MEP scopes while helping mentor project teams, strengthen client relationships, and support the continued growth of our Southern California operations.

The final title, responsibilities, and compensation will be determined based on your experience, leadership background, project portfolio, and overall qualifications.

Whether you're an experienced Project Manager ready for your next challenge or a Senior Project Manager looking for greater ownership and growth, we'd love to talk with you.

Build Projects That Shape Communities

As an MEP Project Manager, you'll oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout, partnering with field leadership, estimating, engineering, purchasing, and executive teams to deliver exceptional results.

This role offers the opportunity to manage projects across multiple MEP disciplines, depending on your background and project portfolio. While many assignments focus on HVAC or plumbing systems, you'll have the opportunity to contribute across broader MEP scopes as business needs evolve.

If you're looking for a role where you'll have the autonomy to lead projects, influence outcomes, and build long-term client relationships, AMPAM offers the platform to do just that.

Why Join AMPAM?

Recognized throughout the MEP industry for our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, AMPAM offers more than just a job—we offer a place to build a long-term career.

Our employees are encouraged to leverage their talents while collaborating with experienced professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional work. Leadership fosters an inclusive environment where ideas are valued, professional development is encouraged, and career growth is supported at every level.

As AMPAM continues to expand—including the recent acquisition of Coastal Fire & Integration Systems—we're investing in exceptional construction professionals who want to grow with us.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead multifamily and commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Own project financial performance, including forecasting, billing, cash flow, cost management, and profitability.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.
  • Lead contract administration, change order management, negotiations, and project risk mitigation.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and other project team members.
  • Collaborate with estimating, purchasing, engineering, and field operations to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Champion safety, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you’ll:

  • Successfully deliver projects that meet schedule, quality, and financial objectives.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Become a respected leader across field and office operations.
  • Help mentor and develop future project management talent.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of AMPAM’s Southern California operations.
What You Bring

Experience

  • Progressive experience managing plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or MEP construction projects.
  • Experience successfully delivering multifamily, commercial, or mixed-use construction projects.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Experience leading project teams and building strong client relationships.
Skills
  • Strong understanding of MEP construction methods, building systems, and project delivery.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Spectrum, or similar construction management software.
  • PMP, PE, CCM, DBIA, or related certifications are a plus.
Compensation

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $90,000–$130,000+ annually (at the PM level).

Final title, level, responsibilities, and compensation will be determined based on your experience, leadership capabilities, project portfolio, and overall qualifications.

AMPAM believes exceptional talent doesn’t always fit neatly into a salary range or job title. If your experience aligns with what we’re building, we’d welcome the opportunity to start a conversation—even if your compensation expectations fall outside of our anticipated range.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future employment sponsorship.
