Job summary

Sylvester & Cockrum is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager in Winston-Salem, NC to lead multiple HVAC/mechanical construction projects from planning through closeout. You will manage schedules, budgets, safety, and quality while coordinating field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. Strong PM and estimating experience are preferred.

The role reports to the Mechanical Department and requires travel to project sites as needed. Competitive compensation and a full benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or better; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Contracting, HVAC, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of several years experience in HVAC/mechanical contracting or related construction environment; PM and estimating experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project-management software; CAD/drawing systems as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, budgets, cost reports, forecasts, logs, and two-week look-ahead schedules.
• Manage projects to meet or improve cost, schedule, scope, quality, and profitability objectives.
• Lead project kick-off, preconstruction, planning, progress, and closeout meetings.
• Review plans, specs, submittals, and drawings to identify design or constructability conflicts.
• Coordinate field labor, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Ensure field personnel understand scope, requirements, and subcontractor roles.
• Purchase equipment/materials; manage buyout and verify invoices against PO.
• Monitor labor hours and productivity; adjust as needed.
