Job summary

The Osborn Engineering Company is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join our consulting engineering team. You will report to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering and contribute to healthcare, sports, commercial, and institutional projects.

Strong Revit skills and collaborative approach are essential as you develop HVAC systems, coordinate with disciplines, and drive designs from SD to CD phases.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design within consulting engineering.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proactive and collaborative team member.
• Experience designing healthcare, sports, commercial, public sector, industrial, education and institutional projects.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced heating and cooling load calculations using Trace or HAP.
• Develop complex ductwork and piping layouts.
• Size equipment rooms during SD/DD phases.
• Review and edit project specifications.
• Develop air and water flow calculations.
• Understand fan and pump curves for proper equipment selection.
• Apply psychrometric charts for HVAC systems.
• Coordinate with other disciplines on HVAC details.
• Respond to RFIs and review submittals.
• Manage design scope within available hours.
