Job summary

Yearout Mechanical, a Legence company, seeks a Project Engineer to drive complex mechanical (HVAC/Plumbing) projects in Texas. You’ll partner with PMs and field teams to manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety through documentation, BIM/CADD coordination, vendor management, and client communication.

Bring a Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering degree with 3–5 years in commercial construction, or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Qualifications

• Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering degree and 3–5 years in commercial construction or 10+ years in lieu of a degree.
• HVAC/Plumbing mechanical contractor experience on mid-to-large commercial projects preferred.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel/Word; familiarity with BIM/CADD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own RFIs, submittals, change orders (COR/CO), meeting minutes, and logs.
• Update master schedules; flag risks and pull-forward options.
• Support job cost control, vendor pricing, POs, and progress billings.
• Assist QA/QC, pre-task analyses, site walks, toolbox talks; drive punchlist closure.
• Coordinate model updates with VDC/CADD partners.
• Source materials, track deliveries, resolve shortages; maintain vendor relations.
• Prepare for and participate in project meetings; assist subcontractor selection.
• Assemble O&M manuals, as-builts, turnover docs.
