Job summary

Central Plumbing, Heating and Excavation is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support project delivery from both field and office environments. You will collaborate with Project Management and Field Teams to solve problems, improve efficiency, and deliver quality projects from start to finish.

Qualified candidates have a ABET-accredited degree or 5+ years field experience, strong drawing interpretation, and solid communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (ABET-accredited), or 5+ years of relevant field experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support estimating efforts: set up estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, track historical data, and learn computer take-off software.
• Prepare and manage project documents including submittals, O&M manuals, contracts, and permit applications.
• Assist with material purchasing and tracking, timecards, purchase orders, and general project documentation.
• Help pre-plan projects by organizing drawings, specifications, meeting materials, and procurement needs.
• Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.
