Job summary

The candidate will understand production processes, utility systems, and procurement activities while contributing to policy improvements and site sustainability plans. This is a full-time, on-site position in Durham.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required or equivalent with related experience.
• 5 years manufacturing experience (nonwovens preferred).
• 3-5 years capital project management experience.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD) and drawing standards.
• Technical writing experience.
• Experience with scheduling software (MS Project or MS Planner).
• Experience with procurement processes (RFP, orders/contracts).
• Experience with utility and manufacturing control systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects per the organization’s project management policy.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors with emphasis on safety.
• Assist with project prioritization with emphasis on sustainability.
• Support production capacity through automation and robotics applications.
• Understand technical aspects of production processes.
• Have design/comprehension of utility systems (gas, thermal fluid, cooling water, compressed air, HVAC, electrical).
• Prepare or coordinate procurement specs and drawings.
• Support site obsolescence and sustainability plans.
• Contribute to improvements to the project management policy.
