Job summary

Freudenberg Group is seeking a senior Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement automated systems for assembly and inspection. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, support existing tooling, and ensure safety and ergonomic standards across all designs.

The role requires a strong background in robotics, vision systems, PLC/HMI programming, and IoT connectivity, with a 3D modeling tool like SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in robotics, vision systems, and automation.
• Proficient with 3-D modeling software; SolidWorks preferred.
• Proficient with PLC/HMI programming and setup.
• Knowledge of IoT and machine connectivity methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement flexible automated systems for use in assembly processes.
• Design automated inspection and assembly stations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify automation opportunities.
• Support existing automation and tooling; identify improvement opportunities.
• Recommend and implement enhancements to equipment documents.
• Review product development requirements for processing compatibility, costs and schedules.
• Ensure machine requirements are specified, documented and controlled.
• Prioritize safety and ergonomics in designs.
• Assist in equipment specifications, IQ protocols, and validation activities.
• Interface with machine shop to ensure design intent and propose fabrication methods.
