Job summary

Freudenberg in Durham, NC is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead capital projects, coordinate contractors, and support production through automation. The role requires strong CAD skills, project management experience, and a focus on safety and sustainability.

The candidate will understand production processes, utility systems, and procurement activities while contributing to policy improvements and site sustainability plans. This is a full-time, on-site position in Durham.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required or equivalent with related experience.
• 5 years manufacturing experience (nonwovens preferred).
• 3-5 years capital project management experience.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD) and drawing standards.
• Technical writing experience.
• Experience with scheduling software (MS Project or MS Planner).
• Experience with procurement processes (RFP, orders/contracts).
• Experience with utility and manufacturing control systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects per the organization’s project management policy.
