Job summary

RK Industries is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to serve as the technical backbone for planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. You will review drawings, manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, and quality control to ensure systems are designed and delivered with precision.

Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, field teams, and design partners, you will tackle technical challenges while keeping schedule and budget in check.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a related position.
• Experience coordinating with owners, contractors, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and/or perform the following as delegated by the assigned Project Manager.
• Manage contractual agreements with owners, contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, field staff, and within RKMI's management system.
• Ensure daily corporate documentation is completed and up to date, including time cards, daily reports, and other project records.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and scope of work for contractual agreements and estimate bid proposals.
• Prepare and distribute initial project budgets and tracking.
• Coordinate and attend RKMI in-house pre-construction meetings.
• Ensure permits and licenses are obtained and current for projects.
• Coordinate timely completion and buy-out procedures with superintendent and purchasing, maintaining budget.
• Oversee submittal approvals, take-offs, and shop drawings.
• Administer signed subcontract requirements and change orders.

Education

College/university graduate or equivalent
