Job summary

Trinseo is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing) to identify, evaluate, and coordinate capital and expense projects in our Bristol, PA plant. You will work with manufacturing teams, engineering personnel, R&D representatives and outside resources to deliver reliable capital improvements in line with budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in chemical industry environment.
• Prior engineering experience (improvement, maintenance, mechanical reliability, projects).
• Self-motivated, capable decision-maker that can effectively influence others.
• Project management skills - Stage Gate Project Development process preferred.
• Knowledge of Process Safety - Mechanical Integrity, LPPs, Layers of Project, etc. is a plus.
• Mechanical engineering within chemical industry background preferred.
• Capital Project Management experience.
• Ability to learn and use SAP programs and reports.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well with multiple levels (floor level, plant management and corporate) of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill the role of project manager for plant capital and expense projects to meet the yearly budget commitments following the Global Project Methodology - 20%.
• Identify, evaluate and define improvement opportunities to increase mechanical reliability of manufacturing equipment and related plant infrastructure.
• Manage the mechanical integrity (MI) inspection program and annual schedule.
• Prepare and present expense reports and budget forecast plans.
• Support safety programs and initiatives directed by HE&S.
