Job summary

Amazon in Nashville seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to own sub-system layouts for automated material handling and deliver complete installation packages for construction. You will coordinate with electrical, controls, and structural engineers and lead on-site installation activities.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, safety compliance, and hands-on mentorship of junior engineers while ensuring project timelines and budget targets are met across the logistics network expansion.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Experience with Material handling equipment (MHE).
Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).
Experience communicating clearly with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Experience independent work or Amazon experience.

Responsibilities

Translate customer drawings and specifications into fully functional mechanical conveyor systems.
Own 3D modeling and clash detection management for project sub areas.
Produce complete 2D customer approval and installation layout drawings.
Coordinate with construction teams to resolve layout conflicts and ensure efficient installation.
Lead installation support and commissioning activities for projects.
