Job summary

Hermanson Company in Kent, WA seeks a Mechanical/Plumbing Estimator to assemble estimates for projects, perform takeoffs, review specs, and prepare bid costs for review by Account Executives and the estimating manager. The role may attend job walks and coordinate with project management, sales, and other departments to meet strategic goals.

Requires 2+ years estimating experience and a Bachelor’s in engineering or construction management; proficiency with FabEST MEP, Bluebeam Revu, and Excel is

Qualifications

• Two or more years of mechanical and/or plumbing estimating experience.
• Ability to learn FabEST MEP, Bluebeam Revu and Excel.
• Strong organizational, planning and communication skills.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform specification reviews and outline project requirements.
• Send pre-bid questions and RFI details to engineers and account executives.
• Conduct drawing takeoffs for plumbing/piping and sheet metal using Excel, Bluebeam and FabEST MEP.
• Input material/labor takeoffs into the final estimate spreadsheet.
• Determine rental equipment needs and assign labor hours.
• Assist in assembling post-bid breakdowns and turnover to project teams.
