Job summary

BL Harbert International is seeking a skilled tradesperson to read blueprints and specifications to determine scope, location, quantities, and material sizes, and to lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated structural metal parts on site.

The role requires experience with threaded pipe and/or compressed air systems, and the ability to set up face blocks, jigs, fixtures, and to prepare parts for welding or riveting; teamwork and reliability are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Reads blueprints and specifications to determine scope, location, quantities and sizes of materials.
• Experience with threaded pipe and/or compressed air systems is preferred.
• Sets up face blocks, jigs and fixtures.
• Transposes centerlines and reference points to workpiece.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products.
• Set up face blocks, jigs, and fixtures.
• Locate centerlines and reference points and transpose them to work piece using tape and plumb bob.
• Trace and prepare components for welding or riveting.
• Other responsibilities as needed.
